Our Inclusive Partnership Offer

At The Roseland Centre, we believe everyone should have the chance to enjoy outdoor learning, adventure and nature.

Our charity-owned residential and day centre provides a safe, welcoming and accessible base for schools, community groups and other organisations visiting Cornwall.

Following extensive refurbishment, the Centre offers flexible spaces and accessible facilities to support people with a wide range of needs.

 

Working together

Every group is different. We work with group leaders before their visit to understand what they need and help make their stay as successful as possible.

Groups bring their own staff, specialist support, equipment and resources. We provide the accommodation, accessible facilities, local knowledge and a supportive environment, with exclusive use of the Centre and its grounds for the duration of your booking.

This means groups can make full use of the garden, inner courtyard and outdoor spaces as part of their stay, providing a private and flexible environment for their activities and programmes.

 

Our accessible facilities

The Centre includes:

• Step-free access throughout the building, including our historic 1893 building
• Accessible wet rooms, toilets, showers and changing facilities
• Flexible sleeping arrangements
• Communal spaces for learning, relaxing and socialising
• Technology-enabled meeting spaces
• Enclosed outdoor areas for play, exploration and nature activities
• Secure entry and on-site parking

 

Our Accessible Garden

We are developing the garden and inner courtyard at the Roseland Centre.

We want to create welcoming and accessible spaces where people can:

• enjoy nature

• grow plants and vegetables

• spend time outdoors

• take part in gardening

• enjoy the space with others

The garden plans include raised gardening beds and wheelchair-friendly pathways and is a collaborative project designed by and for those with different ages, needs and abilities.

 

Working Together

We want to work with local associations, community groups, schools and other organisations, to:

• share ideas and experience

• help us develop the garden

• bring a group to take part

• help care for the garden

• help us find new ways to use the space

 

Community Use

Community groups and volunteers will be able to use and help care for the garden when the Centre is not being used by a booked group or school.

When a group or school has booked the Centre, they have exclusive use of the Centre and its grounds. This means the garden will be for their use during their booking.

We want the garden to grow with our community. Your ideas, experience and needs can help us shape the garden and how it is used in the future.

 

Planning your visit

We welcome residential visits, day activities, community events, wellbeing programmes and group stays.

Our aim is to help people build confidence, develop independence and enjoy new experiences in a supportive setting.

Please note: Visiting organisations remain responsible for providing any specialist staff, personal assistance, mobility equipment or other resources their group may need.

We will work with group leaders to help plan a visit that is safe, accessible and meaningful for everyone. We don’t provide a fixed programme; we work with you to deliver what you need.

Through our Inclusive Partnership Offer, we want to make outdoor experiences more accessible while helping to secure the future of our charity-led Centre.
